Kurrajong Hole (Old Greenvale)

Freddie remembers the water-hole named after the red-flowered local Kurrajong tree, known as the Kimberley rose, which proliferates in the area.

One of a string of such water-holes, remnants of the Wilson River, as it made its way along the bottom of the ranges, it was a welcome night-camp for the cattle drovers on the old Hall’s Creek to Wyndham stock route, they were always good shade and water for themselves and their charges.
