Warlu on Fire: New Works from Warlukurlangu Artists

Warlu on Fire: New Works from Warlukurlangu Artists is a striking exhibition profiling the works of artists from Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation in Yuendumu, Northern Territory. Warlukurlangu artists are renowned for their vibrant and colourful depictions of sites and stories of cultural significance, which include Mina Mina Dreaming and local sites of food sources. The word warlukurlangu means belonging to fire in the local language, which is Warlpiri, and is the name of a fire dreaming site west of Yuendumu.  There will be over 30 small scale and medium works from this region on display. Shorty Jangala Robertson and Alma Nungarrayi Granites are among the artists from Warlukurlangu who feature in this exhibition. Among the works by Warlukurlangu artists is a rotating wall of small-scale works from the stockroom. These works are by prominent indigenous and non-indigenous artists. This exhibition will highlight the incredible richness of works by Warlukurlangu artists and provides an opportunity to purchase original artworks at affordable prices.
