Tingari (Sculptures)
Walala has collaborated with the Campfire Group* to produce
striking, sculptural pieces both in steel and timber. Mapped
from drawings, the stark, totemic pieces, act as frames for
the landscape.

Sculptures from The Tingari Cycle
This exciting series of floor and table sculptures by Walala
Tjapaltjarri in association with Campfire Group artists depict
Walala’s iconic hand-drawn forms referencing Pintupi ceremonial
ground painting designs. These have been translated -via scans
and laser cutting technologies- into (limited edition) welded
steel and timber forms.
Tingari
With an intentional, boldly graphic style, Walala produces distinctive
images of the Tingari Cycle. Characterised by outlined rectangular
shapes with surrounding dots and a palette of up to four colours
the works are topographical, depicting natural formations and
mythological sites in the Gibson Desert.
