Ronnie Tjampitjinpa (Pintupi) b. circa 1949 at Muyinnga, near Kintore. Initiated into Aboriginal Law at Yumari. Ronnie’s country is this region near Lake Mackay. He began painting in the early years of the Papunya Tula Artists movement, focusing (largely) Tingari Cycle stories relating to this area. He has since emerged as one of the major artists of the Western Desert and internationally regarded for his experimentation with traditional forms amidst new colours and compositions. For
