The X & Ray series features an unlikely pair of travel companions: ‘X’ the stingray and ‘Ray’ the dingo, featuring images and ideas by Lin and Michael Eather. The characters X & Ray were first portrayed in the iconic 1992 work by Lin titled Michael and I are just slipping down the pub for a minute. Later, a whole series of new images were conceived – painted or made three dimensionally – in a collaborative spirit, always featuring the dingo and stingray. Lin’s son Tiriki has provided new energy and expertise to the collaborative process. X & Ray was first published in 2000 with Mandjad Productions – an Onus/Eather partnership.
