Jenny
is a ‘New Media’ artist who works within a fluid
screen-based practice. Due to the diverse creative media she
uses, much of her work defies categorisation. Jenny’s
work takes iconic and everyday symbols of Australian life and
places them into a context that questions the values they represent.
With a laconic sense of humour, she picks away at the fabric
of contemporary society, exposing contradictions, absurdities
and denial. In the series Road Kill, Jenny poses challenging
visual images of lament of animals in the lands of the Bundjalung
Nation. The photographs focus on the impact of progress and
devastation. Jenny’s work is held in numerous national
and international collections including the University of Wollongong,
NSW; ART Station in Kollmitzberg and Sammlung Essl (both in
Austria); RMIT, Melbourne; and the Australian Centre for Photography,
Sydney.
