Some days are nothing but Road Works…

These works are about travelling, the Australian landscape, the mysterious terrain of the artist’s memory laid down on canvas. Stylistically they are an interesting mix of very traditional painting in an abstract composition, with a strong suggestion of landscape. The atmospheric, romantic feel reflects the element of reminiscence, a melding of memory with dog-eared snap shots. Exaggerated colour captures the essence of the emotion trapped in that one place, regardless of the years that have passed. Individual titles suggest a location, an event, a conversation, etched on the artists mind. Childhood journeys link up with last week-ends fishing trip, documenting a single, continuous path.
