Born:
1959 Darwin NT
Language: Iwatja language group
Tribe: Murran Clan (north-west Arnhem Land)
Region: Kakadu NT
Noted for her political activism surrounding local and national
Indigenous issues, Christine’s practice has evolved from
a need to visually re-interpret these issues. With her frequent
use of allegory, she invokes new ways of highlighting the complexities
of history and contemporary justice. Her work is held by the National
Gallery of Australia and in private collections nationally and
internationally.
